By the Pale Moon Light
Chapter One
I shouldn’t have ran away, not for the reasons you are thinking, but because I came ill prepared.
All I had was my backpack filled with clothes, and five hundred bucks, I’d managed to save from when mom sent me grocery shopping.
No food, nothing to light a fire, and nothing to keep me warm at night. So here I am in the middle of the forest shivering to death, and nowhere to go.
I’m not going back, ever, my mother’s latest boyfriend, Ned, seemed to think it was alright to feel me up when the mood struck him, and my mother just ignored it.
Tonight after dinner was the last straw, I was finishing up cleaning the dishes when Ned came up behind me,
he rubbed himself against my rear, almost causing me to vomit up the dinner I just cooked. “Twyla, why don’t you let me show you what a real man can do for you.”
Was he serious, he smelled of stale beer, and hot Cheetos. Not to mention the fact that he hadn’t bathed in two days, yeah he was a real ladies man.
“Get off me Ned, go bother my mom, she’s in her bedroom.” I tried to scoot away from him, but he sidestepped me, blocking my exit.
When his slimy hand came up to caress my cheek I had to refrain from biting him, for one thing I didn’t want whatever he had,
and I was afraid if I did he’d take it farther. Pulling back from his hand I reiterated my earlier suggested. “Ned, my mom is in her room waiting on you, go bother her,
I have work to do before I go to bed.” I never saw it coming until he made contact with my cheek. I’d never seen him move so fast,
usually the weed they smoked kept them both pretty mellowed out. I could feel the handprint raising on my cheek as he gripped my hair tightly in his fist.
